Community Partners

Tapestry works diligently to partner with other reputable non-profit organizations, businesses and agencies in an effort to ensure the families we serve have access to as many resources as possible.  In addition, partnerships like these allow us to maximize our results without duplicating efforts.

World Vision - World Vision is the largest Christian humanitarian organization in the world.   They are dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.  Each month, Tapestry receives material donations that allow us to serve the fundamental needs of our clients.  These donations include brand new toiletries, blankets, clothing, shoes, diapers, school supplies & household items.  Each Christmas they provide gifts and toys for the children.

Here’s Life Inner City - The mission of Here’s Life Inner City, a division of Campus Crusade for Christ, is to serve and mobilize the Church (and ministries) to live out God’s heart for the poor, so all can grow in Christ and spiritually multiply.  Through our partnership with HLIC, we are able to offer Thanksgiving meals, Christmas care packages, Easter bags and backpacks with school supplies to our clients, free of charge. In addition, HLIC offers extensive training tools and ministry based support to our staff and volunteers.

Bridging - Bridging was founded on the simple concept that community resources should be shared with those in need.  Their purpose is to bridge the gap between the “haves” and the “have nots.”  Their mission is to provide the economically disadvantaged with a one-time gift of quality furniture and household items which helps to stabilize and improve their lives while effectively using community resources.  Through a network of over 200 social service agencies, eligible clients are able to come to their 10,000 square foot warehouse for a once-in-a-lifetime shopping experience. Program services and community needs continue to climb across the state. In 2008, Bridging served over 17,000 individuals.

Fairview Medical Center - Through a partnership with Fairview Riverside Women’s Clinic and Fairview Riverside Medical Center, Tapestry is fortunate to be able to provide top notch prenatal care right in the heart of South Minneapolis. Because something as simple as lack of transportation can be the defining factor in whether or not women seek prenatal medical care, having our clinic easily accessible on bus line 5 dramatically increases the probability of a healthy pregnancy and delivery. Fairview Riverside Women’s Clinic provides the Certified Nurse Midwife, while we provide the Prenatal Health Educator, Lab Assistants and Ultrasound Services.

Cradle of Hope is a non-profit organization which provides financial aid to pregnant women and to women with infants less than three months of age. Cradle of Hope offers one-time assistance to mothers who are ineligible for aid from other resources and need immediate help with maternity-related expenses. Assistance is granted regardless of marital status, race, religion, age, or source of income.

Cheerful Givers  is a non-profit organization which provides toy-filled birthday gift bags to food shelves and shelters so that parents living in poverty can give their child a birthday gift. We believe this simple gesture boosts self-esteem, enhances self-worth, and strengthens bonds in families.

Many thanks to the ACCL group of Holy Name Church for their generous donation to help fund our web site.
